ŠTANJEL

Štanjel

Štanjel is one of the oldest settlements in the Karst. It is a small, pictoresque village situated in the Turn hill area. A stroll through Štanjel will reveal many narrow streets that occasionally open up into squares with stone wells. The houses are all nestled together and mostly made out of stone, with narrow windows, portals and adorned with beautiful details cut into the stone.

WE RECOMMEND:

- visiting the Ferrari garden

- taking a walk by the walls and visiting the castle courtyard

- visiting a typical Karst house (and getting to know the life of a typical family from the Karst)

- the circular hiking trail that goes around the old part of Štanjel and continues to Kobdilj
